1 man dead, another in the hospital after hit-and-run in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO -- One man is dead and another is in the hospital after a hit-and-run in San Francisco Saturday evening, according to police.



Police said at 6:46 p.m. officers responded to reports of a hit-and-run at the intersection of Leavenworth and Ellis Streets.



According to police, a man in his 50s was crossing southbound on Leavenworth Street on the west side of the intersection, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Ellis Street.



Police said a second victim, a man in his 30s, was also struck and transported to a hospital where he was treated for injuries considered non-life threatening.



Police said the suspect vehicle fled the scene heading west on Ellis Street, but no description of the vehicle was available at the time.



The incident is currently under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department at (415) 345-7300.
