DANVILLE, Calif. -- At least one person is dead following a collision this afternoon involving multiple vehicles on Interstate Highway 680 in Danville.
The collision was first reported at 12:18 p.m. on southbound Highway 680, just south of Sycamore Valley Road, according to CHP officials.
At least four vehicles were involved in the collision and a body was reported to be in the roadway, CHP officials said.
At 12:34 p.m., CHP officials issued a Sig-alert, shutting down two southbound lanes of the highway. As of 1:15 p.m., there was no estimate for when the two lanes would reopen.
No other information was immediately available.
