SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Governor Jerry Brown poked fun at Donald Trump in a speech to labor organizers this week.

"If Trump were ever elected, we'd have to build a wall around California to defend ourselves from the rest of this country," Brown told organizers at a dinner in Sacramento, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Brown quickly added "That's a joke" as the crowd laughed.

The governor said, "We don't like walls. We like bridges."
