California's Great America celebrates its 40th year

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- Santa Clara's Great America is now open for its 2016 season - its 40th year. Great America first opened in 1976 to mark America's bicentennial.

Friday's fanfare includes a guest appearance by Snoopy and a giveaway of commemorative 40th year backpacks for the first 2,500 guests through the gates.
