SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- You have a little less than a month to ensure you can vote in June's primary as the registration deadline is May 23.

To vote Republican you have to be registered with the Republican party and to vote Democrat, you must be either a registered Democrat or check no party preference on your voter registration form.

"People need to pay close attention to the things that they get in the mail because the clock is ticking and when the deadline hits that's it. If you don't have your registration, if you don't have your party preference established with your county firmly by May 23 that's it, your voting choices are going to be limited," voter registration employee Kim Alexander said.
