Suspect taken to hospital after officer-involved shooting in Milpitas

MILPITAS, Calif. (KGO) -- Police investigators are looking into the cause of an officer-involved shooting in Milpitas

No officers were injured. Police said the suspect was shot on the on-ramp to northbound I-680 at East Calaveras Boulevard.

The incident happened at 1 a.m. Officers said they were running after the suspect after he got out of his car in a hotel parking lot. A lieutenant said the suspect was treated at the scene and has been taken to a hospital.

The suspect's condition is unknown at this time.
