Man arrested after concerned citizen reports suspicious vehicle

FAIRFIELD, Calif. -- A man was arrested in Fairfield late Friday afternoon for allegedly possessing a concealed firearm, according to police.

Police said at 4:30 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Fairfield police reporting a suspicious vehicle parked at Sunrise Park.

According to police, the citizen believed the subjects associated with the vehicle were selling drugs and was able to provide officers with a detailed description of the vehicle as well as one of the occupants.

Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle and allegedly had the smell of Marijuana coming from the inside, police said.

A search of all the occupants and the vehicle was conducted and police said officers found a loaded .40 caliber handgun magazine and loose .40 caliber ammunition and under the drivers seat the matching .40 caliber handgun.

Police said a small amount of Marijuana was also found in the vehicle.

Oakland resident Darrious Irving, 27, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a concealed firearm and was booked into the Solano County Jail.
