Major crash on Hwy 4 in Concord sends 7 to hospital

CONCORD, Calif. -- The California Highway Patrol Friday morning is reporting a serious crash on westbound state Highway 4 in Concord.

The crash occurred on the highway near Willow Pass Road, according to the CHP.

The CHP is reporting several vehicles are involved, and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District is reporting seven patients are being transported to the hospital.

At least two lanes of the roadway were blocked but have since reopened.

The crash was first reported at 5:56 a.m.
