'Heterosexual Pride Day' trending on Twitter

A call to mark June 29 as a day to celebrate heterosexual pride is trending today on Twitter.

Hundreds of thousands of tweets have been sent with the hashtag #HeterosexualPrideDay.

The idea has outraged many who have flooded the hashtag with gay pride memes and other mentions of support.

The Twitter user who started it all has declined to comment.
