Standoff underway in Oakland after reported shooting

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Police are working on a standoff in Oakland Wednesday morning after an "unknown critical incident".

The incident was reported around 3:50 a.m., according to police officials.

A police officer said the incident involves several possible suspects and victims near East 12th Street and 15th Avenue.

Several streets are closed and police are advising drivers take alternate routes.

No further information was available.
