SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A 100-year-old San Francisco woman caught in a housing showdown is now hospitalized, just before she was set to be evicted.

Iris Canada has been fighting to stay in her home of more than 50 years in the Western Addition neighborhood.



She was hospitalized on Tuesday after seeing the sheriff's notice warning that she would be locked out of her home on Wednesday.

Last month, a San Francisco judge sided with building owners, in favor of eviction, after finding Canada had failed to pay court-ordered attorney's fees.
