MONTARA, Calif. -- The San Mateo County coroner's office confirms that a woman who was found dead Sunday at Montara State Beach has been identified as 20-year-old San Francisco resident Rose De Alba.

Deputies received a call close to noon Sunday from someone at the beach located off state Highway 1, eight miles north of Half Moon Bay.

San Mateo County sheriff's spokesman Detective Salvador Zuno said, "It's not likely that De Alba's body was there for long before somebody discovered it," due to the popularity of the beach.

Zuno says a beach-goer found De Alba dressed in street clothes, on some rocks at the foot of a cliff close to the north end of the beach.

The cause of her death is still under investigation, but Zuno says there weren't any obvious signs of foul play.
