'Dancing With the Stars' contestant to talk about abusive marriage on 'Nightline'

Actress turned country music singer Jana Kramer is showing off her impressive moves on Dancing With the Stars.

The 32-year-old says her life isn't as perfect as it may seem. Kramer's opening up in an ABC News exclusive saying she barely made it out of her first marriage alive.

Now, she's choosing National Domestic Violence Awareness Month as the time to tell her story, in hopes that she can empower other women to get out of abusive relationships.

"I'll never forget sitting in the bushes, I'm like, I'm hiding in my bushes. Like, How -- how in the world did I get here?" Kramer said.

Kramer is now married to former NFL star Mike Caussin. They have a daughter.

Kramer is dealing with a recent separation after her husband was unfaithful. She talks about that, on Nighline right here on ABC7 at 12:35 a.m.
