SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- There will soon be two new commute options for people looking to cross San Francisco Bay.

The California Public Utilities Commission has given two companies approval to begin ferry service between the East Bay and the city

Tideline will offer trips from Berkeley to Pier 15, while PROP will offer service from Emeryville to San Francisco.

Both hope to be up and running early next year, with round trip fares costing around $16.
