Family of couple who went missing in plane releases statement

PETALUMA, Calif. (KGO) -- The family of a missing couple is trying to stay positive as authorities continue to look for the couple's missing plane.

Brenda and Mark Richard took off from Truckee Monday afternoon but never arrived at their destination in Petaluma.

Crews searched on the ground and in the sky focusing on a mountainous area 18-miles northwest of Truckee.

The family issued a statement saying: "We have confidence in the search and resume team and are grateful for the support and efforts of everyone involved. We are staying positive."
