2 pedestrians struck by SUV in Antioch,1 critically injured

ANTIOCH, Calif. (KGO) -- A vehicle struck two pedestrians in Antioch Tuesday morning, critically injuring one of them.

Antioch police said officers initially responded around 6:30 a.m. to a traffic collision reported at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Davison Drive.

The officers learned that an SUV traveling through that intersection struck two people walking in the roadway, police said.

Both of the pedestrians were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, with one reported in critical condition.

The SUV's driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, police said.
