REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- People in a Redwood City neighborhood say they're not too worried about multiple reports of a mountain lion sighting.
The big cat was seen at a distance by a handful of people living in the Emerald Lake Hills area around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
Neighbors say it's nothing new because the area is so rural, they get alerts often.
People who live in this part of Redwood City say they make a point to bring their pets inside at night, when mountain lions are most active.
Game wardens say the big cats tend to avoid people.
If you do see one up close, don't run away. Experts say you should wave your arms, make lots of noise and throw things at the big cat to scare it away.
