Facebook is trying to capture some of the big money that'll be spent on ads on Super Bowl Sunday.

The Menlo Park-based social network has begun tracking who's posting status updates and comments about the Super Bowl.

Those people will be added into the Super Bowl audience pool and advertisers will be able to buy ads targeting that pool. They can also instantly roll out different ads, based on what people are buzzing about.

Last year, 50 million users interacted on Facebook about all things Super Bowl.

In an email to ABC7 News, an agency representing Facebook said: "On background, we just wanted to reinforce that this is done in a completely privacy-safe way, all anonymized and aggregated."
