Uber responded on Friday to safety concerns from its riders in India.
The San Francisco based ride sharing company says it will launch a panic button in its app for riders to notify police in case of an emergency.
A new safety net feature will also allow users to share trip details and their location with as many as five other people.
In January, a woman in India sued Uber for failing to properly screen its drivers. She claims she was raped.
The new features will be available in India starting next week.
