Pierce Brosnan's Malibu home damaged by fire

MALIBU, Calif. -- Los Angeles County firefighters responded to a fire at actor Pierce Brosnan's home in Malibu Wednesday night.

The blaze broke out in the garage of the residence in the 31000 block of Broad Beach Road around 9:48 p.m.

Firefighters were able to knock the blaze down in 35 minutes. Brosnan and his family got out safely after they were alerted by a smoke detector.

The garage and an upstairs bedroom were damaged by the flames. One firefighter was treated for a minor injury.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
