Tonight the San Rafael City Council will discuss whether to extend the closure of a park popular with the homeless.

Boyd Memorial Park closed last month for 30 days. The closure came after complaints from residents who told the mayor they were concerned about crime and drug use in the park, blamed on the homeless.

The park is undergoing a renovation which includes tearing down restrooms that were set on fire.

Tonight's council meeting starts at 7 p.m.
