An East Bay Republican lawmaker is pushing to keep BART running even when there are contract disputes.

Assemblywoman Catharine Baker from Dublin, wants to ban BART workers from going on strike.

Workers have previously said such a ban would give management an unfair advantage in contract negotiations.

Current labor contracts expire in 2017.
