Deadly crash backs up Highway 24 near Caldecott Tunnel

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Thursday night a deadly crash stopped traffic along westbound Highway 24, just past the Caldecott Tunnel in Oakland.

A car hit a pedestrian near the Highway 13 exit just after 9 p.m. Police say a man was seen walking on the freeway before the accident.

The highway was reopened around midnight after the CHP concluded their investigation.
