Warriors' Curry named Western Conference Player of the Week

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for a second time.

The honor is for games played from March 23 through March 29. It's the second career weekly honor for Curry, who was named Player of the Week for games played Nov. 3 through Nov. 9.

It's also a franchise-record fifth such accolade by a Warriors player this season. Klay Thompson has won the award three times.

And it marks the 36th time a Warriors player has been named Player of the Week since the NBA began giving out the award in 1979.

Golden State achieved several franchise milestones over the past week, clinching the Pacific Division title with a win at Portland on March 24 and securing the best record in the Western Conference with a win at Milwaukee on March 28, feats the club hadn't accomplished since the 1975-76 season.
