What could happen to our water supply, if a major earthquake hits in California? A new online advertisement spells out a doomsday scenario.

The ad says: "One minute in outdated dirt levees collapse, salt water contaminates the system. One hour later aqueducts fail. Millions lose access to drinking water."

The group behind this commercial, Californians for Water Security, is campaigning to have those dirt levees replaced with pipelines that are better equipped to handle an earthquake. The group is warning that some people could be without fresh water for a year or more.
