PALO ALTO, Calif. (KGO) -- There are new details in the fight to keep Palo Alto's only mobile home park open.

The Palo Alto weekly reports the Buena Vista Mobile Home Park just off Highway 82 will stay open a little longer.

At a meeting Tuesday night, city council unanimously voted to require a new appraisal for people who live there.

The mobile home park is home to mostly low-income Latino families who work in the wealthy surrounding neighborhoods.

Rent is roughly a third of what it is everywhere else in Palo Alto.

The owner is trying to push about 400 residents out to make way for new development.

The city council plans to revisit the issue next month.
