Oakland police detain 1 person in search for parolee; Shelter in place lifted

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland police have ended a search for a known parolee who was possibly armed with a gun in the area of Sunnymere & Seminary avenues near I-580.

Authorities had asked residents to shelter in place as police searched streets and yards for the parolee. The shelter in place has been lifted.

Police have detained one person, but it's unclear if that person was the one they were searching for.
