Hayward man arrested for trying to scale White House fence

WASHINGTON -- A Hayward man was arrested Sunday night for allegedly climbing over a White House fence, U.S. Secret Service officials said Monday.

Jerome Hunt, 54, is accused of climbing over a fence on the south side of the White House at about 10:25 p.m. Sunday.

Hunt was immediately arrested after getting over the fence, according to the Secret Service.

He has been charged with misdemeanor unlawful entry and was scheduled to appear in Superior Court of the District of Columbia today, according to court records.
