24 hour Silicon Valley Gives fundraiser to benefit Silicon Valley Community Foundation

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- A 24 hour fundraising blitz is now taking place for more than 850 non-profits in the Bay Area.

Volunteers and non-profit employees will be at several locations in the South Bay and the Peninsula for this year's Silicon Valley Gives event.

The Silicon Valley Community Foundation is raising money to benefit hundreds of charitable causes in Santa Clara, San Mateo and San Benito counties. Donations are also being accepted online until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

-- 6-11 a.m. and 5-7 p.m.: Safeway Store, 3970 Rivermark Plaza, Santa Clara

-- 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Microsoft store, Westfield Valley Fair, 2855 Stevens Creek Blvd., Suite 1135, Santa Clara

-- 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Microsoft store, Stanford Shopping Center, 660 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto

-- 4-6 p.m.: Hewlett Packard campus, 3000 Hanover St., Palo Alto

-- 3-4 p.m.: Children's play area Westfield Valley Fair, 2865 Stevens Creek Blvd. Santa Clara
