25-year-old Salinas woman fatally shot

SALINAS, Calif. -- A 25-year-old woman was fatally shot in Salinas early Saturday morning, according to police.

Officers responded around 2:20 a.m. to 918 Acosta Plaza on a report of a shooting and found Nancy Jimenez Campos dead from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Residents in the area heard the gunshots but were not able to provide any information about a suspect to police. No arrests have been made in the case and investigators are asking for any possible witnesses to come forward, according to police.
