ALAMEDA, Calif. -- An observant AC Transit driver helped Alameda police find a missing at-risk teenager on Sunday, police said.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., a family member reported 16-year-old Joshua Bolding missing from his Alameda home.

Police considered Bolding at risk for reasons they cannot disclose because of his age.

According to police, officers sent an alert through Nixle, a notification service that alerts law enforcement, transportation agencies, hospitals and other subscribers.

At approximately 2 p.m., police said they received a report from an AC transit bus driver who had spotted Bolding.

According to police, officers were able to use the driver's information to locate the teen in the 1100 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

He was found safe and returned to his family, police said.
