FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Firefighters battled at least nine wildfires that were sparked by lightning storms in Fresno County on Friday.

More lightning storms are expected in the area on Saturday.

The fires broke out Friday night in the Prather and Auberry areas as the result of thunderstorms that began earlier in the day in the Sierra.

A little farther north on Auberry Road, homes and even horses were threatened by fast-moving flames.

Cal Fire officials say at least 35 acres burned.

Officials say no homes were damaged.
