LAKE COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Crews took a break from battling the Rocky Fire to save a slightly burned and very dehydrated dog they found wandering around near the fire on Friday.

Firefighters fed the tired and hungry dog before calling animal rescue crews who took the pooch to a local animal hospital.

It is unclear at this time what condition the dog is in.

An animal evacuation center is opened at the Lower Lake Social Services parking lot, 15975 Anderson Ranch Parkway, Lower Lake.
