Vallejo police investigating stabbing, hit and run

VALLEJO, Calif. (KGO) -- Vallejo police are investigating after a hit and run victim allegedly stabbed the driver of a truck before it hit him.

Police say they received a call of a hit and run collision on Springs Road at Thelma Avenue Saturday night at 10:30 p.m., where the driver of a U-Haul pick-up truck allegedly struck two subjects walking.

They say a male subject was located under the front tire of the truck and witnesses reported seeing a bald, white male adult in his 20s leaving the scene.

The victim of the hit and run was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Initial reports said the victim of the hit and run was involved in a verbal confrontation with the driver on Springs Road at Oakwood Avenue.

It was reported that the victim of the hit and run stabbed the driver of the pickup then left the scene, where the driver allegedly then hit he other subject with his truck a short distance away.

The hit and run victim's name is being with held pending notification of his family and the driver of the pick-up is not being identified at this point.
