It's time to turn off the TV and video games and enjoy some family fun on National Read a Book Day.

This unofficial holiday is certainly something parents can get behind.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama believe strongly in the power of words and have spent time reading to children.

Educators want parents to urge their kids to crack open a book, any book -- including "Harry Potter," "Divergent" and "To Kill a Mockingbird."
