New lane configuration for Golden Gate Bridge evening commute

MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Drivers on the Golden Gate Bridge will notice a new lane configuration during the evening commute.

Officials are adding an extra northbound lane to ease congestion out of the city into Marin County. That will mean four northbound lanes and two southbound. The change will be in effect from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The morning configuration, which has four southbound lanes, will remain unchanged. The plan will be re-evaluated in mid-November.
