Driver injured after crashing into Oakland home overnight
A car crashed into an Oakland home overnight with a family inside. The family is OK but the driver has been injured.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- A car crashed into an Oakland home with a family inside. Luckily that family is OK, but their home isn't.

It smashed into what appears to be the front door. The crash site area is near Coliseum Way and Independent Road.

But the driver actually lost control as they were exiting I-880 on High Street.

The car also knocked down a power pole and took out a fire hydrant.

That fire hydrant caused a pretty big mess for firefighters.

An investigator is checking out the home, making sure things are structurally sound for that family to be inside.

The driver has been injured but there's no word on the extent of the injuries.
