SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- BART service has resumed in San Francisco after an equipment problem on the tracks caused trains to stop between 24th Street and Daly City Sunday morning.

There were reports of smoke in the tunnel, prompting San Francisco fire crews to respond at Glen Park and Balboa stations.

Passengers headed towards Pittsburg, Dublin, SFO and Millbrae can still expect major delays.

Service stopped at 9:29 a.m., but BART officials announced that service had resumed by 10:04 a.m.
