SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Governor Brown kept up with a Christmas Eve tradition on Wednesday. He pardoned 104 people, many of who had been convicted or minor drug offenses, completing their sentences decades ago.

A spokesman says Brown has retracted one of the pardons he issued hours earlier on Wednesday to a man after learning he had not disclosed recent discipline by financial regulators.

Evan Westrup says the pardon was granted to Glen William Carnes on Wednesday for a 1998 drug-related conviction based on a court-issued certificate of rehabilitation. But Brown withdrew the pardon later the same day after an inquiry by the Los Angeles Times.

The newspaper reported that federal records show that Glen Williams Carnes was disciplined by investment regulators in May 2013 for allegations including false and misleading statements.

The retraction brings the total number of Christmas Eve pardons issued by Brown to 104. The pardons went mostly to people who were convicted of nonviolent drug offenses and burglary more than a decade ago.
