MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KGO) -- It was a frightening sight in off the coast of Southern California. A great white shark was spotted near a swimmer off Manhattan Beach Thursday.
Los Angeles County fire department lifeguards said it was about seven-feet long. They monitored the shark for 45 minutes and did not issue an advisory.
They determined there wasn't a risk to the public as the young shark was not aggressive.
It swam near paddle boarders, surfers and a jet skier before it left for deeper waters.
