PETALUMA, Calif. -- A man was arrested early this morning after he crashed his vehicle into a building in Petaluma and allegedly failed a breath test, according to police.

Police said at 1:38 a.m. officers responded to the 100 block of Petaluma Boulevard North and found a vehicle had drive through the window display of a closed business.

The driver, 22-year-old Jason Lopez of Petaluma, and a passenger were uninjured in the collision and remained on scene to speak with officers, according to police.

Police said officers could smell alcohol emitting from Lopez' breath, and a DUI investigation found him to have a blood alcohol content of .20 percent.

Lopez was arrested and booked in the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and held on $5,000 bail.

Police said the vehicle and business sustained major damage, and the city of Petaluma Building Inspector red tagged the business until repairs could be made.
