During the press conference, Jenkins mother spoke out saying, "She is a wonderful student, a beautiful human being. She loves her family, her friends."

Recovery crews closed down Niles Canyon Tuesday morning while they try to pull a submerged car out of the Alameda Creek.

Investigators say they believe the car belongs to Jenkins. They say that the seatbelt was unfastened and the windows of the car were broken out, leading them to believe she tried to get out.

Authorities believe the young woman's Honda Accord veered across the road, hit another car and plunged into the creek Saturday.

While searching for their 18-year-old relative, a family member spotted her car in Alameda Creek after the young woman went missing Saturday. Authorities are not releasing her identity at this time.

Her bumper and license plate remained on land. When first responders ran the plate, it came back to the missing woman.

Recovery crews have faced several challenges just finding the car, the swollen creek and fast moving water from recent rain made things difficult.
