More details emerge about Modesto murder suspect
County officials confirm Martin Martinez still has his job, even though he's suspected of killing his girlfriend, mother and three children.

MODESTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Details are emerging about the man accused of the murders in Modesto this past weekend. Martin Martinez is accused of killing his former girlfriend, three little girls and his own mother.

A memorial for the victims, outside the home where the murders took place, continues to grow. Many are paying their respects as they stop by, especially for 6-year-old Elizabeth.

According to court documents, Elizabeth's biological father, Timothy Ripley, expressed concern about Martinez last year.

Dr. Amanda Crews and her boyfriend Martin Martinez were both Stanislaus County employees.

Tuesday afternoon, ABC7 News confirmed Martinez is a stock delivery clerk, responsible for driving county vehicles and transporting materials. County officials confirm he still has his job, even though he's suspected of killing his girlfriend, mother and three children -- one of which was his own.

ABC7 News obtained court documents suggesting Crews' ex-husband was concerned her new boyfriend Martinez was dangerous. Ripley posted a similar message outside his door on Monday, suggesting Martinez killed daughter Elizabeth Saturday and son Christopher last year.

Monday, Modesto police confirmed 2-year-old Christopher died in 2014 from blunt force trauma while in Martinez's care. A forensic specialist gave police the information after a nine-month investigation. Still, for two days police didn't arrest Martinez.

"At that time, there were no indications there would be any violence within that family. There had been no calls for service at that location," Modesto Police Chief Galen Carroll said.

In those two days, Martinez is suspected of killing five family members.

Martinez was transported from Santa Clara County and booked into Stanislaus County Jail just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
