New lead in search for missing San Francisco girl
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The search for a little girl and the person who killed her mother is now marking a one year anniversary. It comes with what could be a significant break in the case.

The FBI has been working with the SFPD from day one on this and there's finally a break in the case.
Arianna Fitts was 2 years old when she disappeared last year. Her mother Nicole's body was found last April in a shallow grave in San Francisco's McLaren Park. It was covered with a piece of plywood.
Often in cases like this, as time goes by, the trail goes cold. But not this time. Even as family and friends continue grieve, there is hope. Police have found a car they believe is connected.
"Obtaining this car is a huge crack in the case for us. We're hoping this leads us to further leads. Ultimately, we are hoping it leads us to Arianna so we can have closure for the family and also bring the little girl home where she belongs," SFPD Ofc. Grace Gatpandan said.
This weekend, several dozen people gathered to mark the somber anniversary. The little girl's aunt, Contessa Fitts, praised police for their diligence.

Police say several search warrants have been issued and now that key evidence, a car, is being processed by the FBI.
"It gives me hope that it's going to soon, hopefully soon, lead to the people who are responsible," Contessa said.
The family has started a website to help generate leads. They, along with police, believe she is still alive.
"I know that Arianna is out there. I know that she is alive somewhere and we want her home," Contessa said.
