YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- Parents in Southern California are demanding an apology after their kids ended up in controversial yearbook pictures.

At Yucca Valley High School, Beth Gonzales says the yearbook teacher told students to bring in props for the senior superlatives section.

She says she didn't know what to bring, so the teacher gave her and three other students plastic guns, knives and bombs and posed the students.

Their pictures were published with the caption "teacher's worst nightmare."

"It's plastic, a teacher's giving it to us, I didn't think it was anything wrong. If a teacher had it in her drawer, what's so wrong with it?" said Beth Gonzalez, a student.

The pictures surfaced on social media with comments referencing ISIS. The teacher says she did not mean any malicious intent with the props. The school says it does not plan to re-print or recall the yearbooks.
