PLEASANTON, Calif. (KGO) -- With just a few shopping days left until Christmas East Bay police are searching for robbers who held a woman at gunpoint at the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton.

Extra police and security are on alert after a woman was robbed at gunpoint at 11:30 a.m.

The suspects got away, leaving the victim shaken.

Shoppers are on alert after hearing about Tuesday morning's robbery. "I knew I was coming here tonight but I had my husband come with me just in case," Angela Serano told ABC7 News.

"It's the holidays and I know she'll have bags out," said Serano's husband Mike. "And normally the rest of the year I wouldn't be concerned, but this is a very safe community."

The crime is making some shoppers consider other options. "you're already fighting the crowds, but then to be weary about somebody holding you up, that's terrifying." said Vallejo shopper Lynn. "Makes me want to do even more online shopping."

The robbers managed to make it onto a nearby freeway and got away. Police have very few leads.
