SANTA CLARA, (KGO) -- A power outage at the Santa Clara County Communications Center hindered emergency medical dispatch calls late Wednesday night.

During the outage the calls for Santa Clara County were being routed through the San Jose police and fire dispatch center and then relayed to county crews.

The Santa Clara County dispatchers set up a communications center outside their building, but the relay process was delaying calls.

By midnight the Santa Clara County Communications Center's systems were back up and running. The cause of the power failure is not known.
