MARIN COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- Law enforcement agencies, at the local and state level, are joining forces to try to solve the mysterious disappearance of a 33-year-old software developer who vanished more than a week ago.

Rescue teams are running out of options the search for Magdalena Glinkowski of Menlo Park has been going on for a week, but, Monday they took a new direction.

"The formal search was suspended [Monday] so that we could refocus the investigation onto a more personal basis. We are contacting family members. We are contacting people that are close to the missing person," said California state parks spokeswoman Vicky Waters.

Last Sunday, Glinkowski left a note saying she was going for a hike, but hasn't been seen since. Surveillance video shows her at a parking lot on Mt. Tamalpais. Her rental car was found in the lot with two cell phones and she was wearing a light sweatshirt, shorts and running shoes.

There are reports the software engineer updated her LinkedIn page after she disappeared, but officials have said that is not the case. Meantime officials are asking park goers to be on the lookout.

"We are asking visitors that visit the park on a daily basis to keep an eye out for the missing person. We're making sure that we are communicating with that. We're making sure that we are conducting an investigation onto the disappearance of this person and making sure that we're doing everything possible to bring her back to her parents," said Waters.

Glinkowski's parents have arrived in the Bay Area, from Boston, to assist in the search.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Marin County Sheriff's Investigations Unit at (415) 473-7265 or Bay Area Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
