San Francisco sets up fund to help victims of major fires

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- In San Francisco, a plea is going out to help people burned out of their homes find a place to live.

More than 120 victims of three major fires over the last week are still homeless right now. That includes the large fire that killed a man in the Mission District.

The city has set up a fund, and property owners can give these families a place to live.

To donate, go to give2sf.org, select "Mayor's Fund for the Homeless" and write in "Fire Victims."

Property owners who can provide housing are advised to call Ben Ames with the city at 415-557-5370.
