DALY CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- Police arrested a man after his girlfriend died following an alleged domestic dispute inside their Daly City home early Saturday morning.
At around 12:05 a.m., officers received a call regarding a domestic dispute happening at 18 Fairview Avenue.
It happened in the bottom floor of the house where the victim lived with her boyfriend.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as Ariana Hatami, suffering from severe injuries.
Hatami was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where she died from her injuries a short time later.
Investigators believe her boyfriend Frederick Tran hit her with a bottle.
Officers arrested him at the scene on suspicion of murder. "The case is under investigation. Mr. Tran has been arrested, booked into the San Mateo County Jail, we're continuing our investigation, it's very unfortunate and tragic event especially during the holidays," Daly City Police Department Sgt. Ron Harrison said.
Tran moved in not long ago, while Hatami started living there about two years ago when she started attending San Francisco State University.
The couple worked at a Wells Fargo branch together as well.
Neighbors told ABC7 News the police have been to the home a few times. Many thought there was a history of domestic violence, so they are very saddened to hear about this incident.
Police are continuing to investigate the homicide and asking anyone with information to contact Daly City police Detective Brandon Scholes at (650) 991-8172.
